Actress and It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu appeared to poke fun at the rumors that she is pregnant after a lighthearted video she shared on social media went viral.
In the clip, Kim first showed a wall with the words “Congratulations” before turning the camera toward herself and jokingly saying, “It’s a girl,” followed by loud laughter. The people around her were also heard laughing.
Many fans interpreted the video as Kim’s playful response to the ongoing speculation surrounding her alleged pregnancy.
The joke also reassured some supporters who dismissed the rumors, while others who never believed the speculation said they felt vindicated.
Netizens have likewise pointed out that Kim has continued to wear fitted outfits, saying there has been nothing to suggest that she is expecting.
Despite the circulating rumors, the actress has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
The speculation intensified after a TikTok video of Kim surfaced online, with some social media users claiming they noticed what they described as a “baby bump.”
Several commenters even claimed they could tell Kim was pregnant based on her appearance.
However, fellow It’s Showtime host Cianne Dominguez quickly shut down the speculation.
Responding to a commenter who claimed to be a nurse and insisted Kim was pregnant, Cianne replied: “Isauli mo na po. Ako na ang nagsasabi.”
When another netizen teased her by asking whether Kim had simply not informed her, Cianne responded sarcastically: “Sabi niya sa yo te?”
She also fired back at another commenter who criticized her for defending Kim.
“Ay, nakakasama ka namin lagi?”
Kim’s fans likewise came to her defense, pointing out that a person’s body shape should not automatically lead to pregnancy assumptions.
Some noted that Kim has always had a naturally rounded lower abdomen, while others said a fuller stomach could simply be the result of eating.
The rumors have also fueled renewed speculation about Kim’s relationship with actor Paulo Avelino, with some netizens suggesting that any pregnancy speculation would inevitably be linked to the actor because of their popular KimPau pairing.
Kim and Paulo have worked together in several projects, including ‘Linlang’, ‘What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?’, ‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’, and ‘The Alibi’, although neither has publicly confirmed the real status of their relationship.
As of this writing, Kim has not directly addressed the pregnancy rumors beyond her playful social media post.
