The excitement surrounding the next getaway began even before the doors of the Travel Sale Expo 2026 open, as organizers, travel industry stakeholders, and members of the media gathered at the Embassy of Malaysia in Makati for the event’s press conference.
Returning for its fourth year, the Travel Sale Expo 2026 is set to bring together different players in the travel industry for a three-day celebration centered on one idea: making travel plans more accessible and giving Filipinos more opportunities to turn long-awaited vacation plans into actual trips.

This year’s expo carries the theme “Where Travel Dreams Come Alive” and will take place from October 2 to 4, 2026, at SM Megamall, occupying Megatrade Halls 2 and 3 and Level 5, Mega B.
During the press conference, Ms. Michelle G. Taylan invited the public to visit the upcoming expo and experience the different offerings prepared for travelers.
The event is expected to bring together airlines, hotels, resorts, tourism groups, travel companies, and other businesses connected to the tourism and travel industry. Instead of having travelers visit different establishments individually while searching for their next destination, the expo will put a wide range of travel-related offers in one venue.
For visitors, that means an opportunity to explore different destinations, compare available vacation packages, and look for promotions that could make an upcoming trip more manageable.
One of the biggest attractions of the Travel Sale Expo 2026 will be the collection of travel deals and special offers available during the event.
Selected travel packages and items will be offered at discounts of up to 75 percent, giving visitors another reason to consider finally booking a trip they may have been planning for some time.
The event is expected to appeal to different types of travelers. Families can explore options for their next holiday, while couples and groups of friends can look through possible destinations for a quick getaway. For travelers who have been waiting for the right opportunity to plan a bigger vacation, the expo provides a setting where several options can be explored in one visit.
The presence of airlines, accommodations, tourism organizations, and travel businesses also gives the event a broader scope than a traditional travel sale.

Although travel promotions are a major part of the expo, organizers have also prepared activities designed to make the three-day event more interactive.
Visitors can expect a F4 contest, cosplay activities, dance performances, a travel vlogger challenge, raffles, freebies, and other interactive activities throughout the expo.
These activities add an entertainment component to an event that could otherwise be focused mainly on bookings and promotions. They also give visitors different ways to engage with the expo while exploring the participating exhibitors.
The inclusion of a travel vlogger challenge, in particular, brings the event closer to the way many Filipinos now discover destinations. Travel content and online recommendations have become part of how people research where to go, what to see, and how to plan a trip.

Another feature of the 2026 edition is the Halal Pavilion, which will showcase Halal-friendly products, services, and travel offers.
The dedicated area provides another layer to the expo’s lineup, allowing visitors to explore travel and lifestyle options specifically suited to Halal-conscious consumers.
With different exhibitors and sections planned for the event, the pavilion will form part of the wider travel marketplace that organizers are putting together at SM Megamall.
The Travel Sale Expo 2026 is organized by the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA) in partnership with ONEKLIK Events. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is a major sponsor and partner, while Metrobank serves as the official bank partner and will offer special payment promotions to qualified customers during the event.

Organizers expect the expo to welcome around 50,000 visitors across its three-day run.
That projected turnout reflects the scale of the event and the range of businesses expected to participate. For travel companies, the expo provides a venue to present their offerings directly to potential customers. For consumers, it creates a space where destinations, accommodations, travel services, and promotions can be explored side by side.
The press conference at the Embassy of Malaysia also served as an opportunity for members of the media and industry stakeholders to learn more about what visitors can expect when the expo opens.

Rather than simply presenting travel as a list of destinations and prices, the upcoming event is built around the experience of planning a trip—from discovering a possible destination to finding a package that works for a particular budget or travel preference.
For many Filipinos, planning a vacation often starts with a simple idea: finding somewhere new to visit, checking the budget, and imagining what the trip could look like. The challenge comes when those plans have to be turned into actual bookings.
The Travel Sale Expo 2026 aims to bring those different pieces together in one place.
As the organizers prepare for the fourth edition, the message behind “Where Travel Dreams Come Alive” becomes particularly fitting. The expo gives travelers a chance to move beyond simply talking about their next vacation and start exploring the practical possibilities behind it.
From October 2 to 4, SM Megamall will serve as the venue for the Travel Sale Expo 2026, where travelers can discover destinations, meet travel industry representatives, explore special offers, and take part in activities throughout the three-day event.
With thousands of visitors expected and a wide range of participating travel businesses, the expo is set to create a space where travel plans can begin taking shape—one destination, deal, and experience at a time. (with reports from Aljay Nevarez)
