17 Teleseryes That Made The Loudest ‘RAWR’ This 2017

  • Seven ABS-CBN shows and 10 from GMA Network made into the list.
  • From the longest running teleserye and short-lived series equally roared this 2017.

Before welcoming 2018, let us look back the teleseryes that made noise in social media, garnered high ratings and definitely a must-watch. As the two of the biggest network in the Philippines, ABS-CBN and GMA Network continued to offer different tastes and interesting stories to their loyal viewers here in abroad.

LionhearTV made a list of Filipino TV series who made the loudest ‘rawrs’ within our cloud this 2017.

1. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano (ABS-CBN)

First on the list is Philippine King of Teleserye, Coco Martin!

For almost two years of its run, the TV adaptation of the late Fernando Poe Jr. “Ang Probinsyano,” consistently reached high ratings from pilot episode in September 2015. Now on its Book 2, the show already featured hundred of guest stars from former action stars to showbiz’ newbie actors and actresses.

2. Encantadia (GMA Network)

The 2016 requel of the most successful fantaserye in Philippine TV “Encantadia,” captured the hearts of Filipino viewers in all ages. With its iconic characters, Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya who portrayed by this generations’ biggest stars Glaiza De Castro, Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia and Sanya Lopez.

The show effortlessly made into Twitter top trending topics on daily basis. Moreover, the Kapuso fantaseries grabbed the 4th spot in the category of top Google searches for TV shows.

“Encantadia” ended last May 19, 2017, however in its last episode, a new character was introduced as the possible nemesis of the four guardians of elemental gems.

3. La Luna Sangre (ABS-CBN)

Considered as one of the star-studded teleseryes in Philippine TV, the fantaseries stars the power love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. This also served as the reunion project of Angel Locsin to Richard Gutierrez and John Lloyd Cruz.

“La Luna Sangre” is now in its Book 2, where the real identity of Malia (Kathryn) is slowly unraveling. However, Tristan played by Daniel, shocked their loyal viewers on its revelation on his character as the younger brother of Sandrino (Richard).

The show consistently a trending topic on Twitter and top rater on prime time.

4. Wildflower (ABS-CBN)

Lily Cruz is a social media superstar!

The drama-action-revenge teleserye of Maja Salvador continued to be the hottest topic in social media for its intense slapping scenes. Netizens raved about the spicy exchange of dialogues of Lily Cruz (Maja), Emilia Ardiente (Aiko Melendez) and Camia (Sunshine Cruz).

Roxee B’s character as Nathalie also one of the favorites, with her cunning and sexy aura as Lily’s nemesis. Furthermore, Tirzo Cruz III was also nominated in Asian Television Awards 2017 for Best Actor on his great performance as the greedy Julio Ardiente.

Now in its fourth season, viewers must expect more exciting and intense twists and turn on the story. Watch out and get ready to be blown by Lily’s beauty and power.

5. Ika-6 Na Utos (GMA Network)

“Ika-6 Na Utos,” considered as the highest rating daytime drama of 2017, stars the former matinee idol Gabby Concepcion, Sunshine Dizon and Ryza Cenon. The infidelity-themed teleserye is famous for its intense fight scenes between the wife (Sunshine) and the mistress (Ryza).

Due to its high ratings, GMA Network decided to air the said series every Saturdays as an extension of weekdays run.

Gabby Concepcion who played the Jerome Fuentabella, won the Asian Star Prize in recently concluded 12th Seoul International Awards.

 6. Super Ma’am (GMA Network)

As the much-awaited TV comeback of Asia’s Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, “Super Ma’am” effortlessly captured the hearts of Filipino kids and kids-at-heart. With its superhero-theme, Marian proves her undeniable charisma still lingers on her every inch and strands as an actress.

After weeks of its pilot airing, the show as announced as one of the Top 10 most-buzzed-about new shows in the world according to global trend-tracker, WorldScreen.com. The said series landed on the 10th spot of the Social Wit List for the month of September 2017. During its premiere, the action-fantasy series generated 33,000 Facebook and Twitter comments with netizens buzzing about #MarianRivera #GreatActionScenes #Entertaining #Applause.

7. My Love From The Star (GMA Network)

The hit Korean series “My Love From The Star” had its Philippine version aired this 2017. The Pinoy adaptation starred the ‘Ultimate Star’ Jennylyn Mercado and Kapuso newbie actor Gil Cuerva.

The show also made into Top 5 most-buzzed-about new shows worldwide alongside “Mulawin Vs. Ravena.”

8. My Korean Jagiya (GMA Network)

“My Korean Jagiya” marked the first Philippine series to be filmed in South Korea, featured the co-production of Philippines and Korea. The show stars ‘Philippine TV Sweetheart’ Heart Evangelista-Escudero and former K-Pop star Alexander Lee.

The show garnered consistently high ratings since it premiered last August 21, 2017.

K-drama fans are also hooked on it’s Korean-inspired story that brings ‘kilig’ to its viewers. Meanwhile, the show is now down to its last three weeks after its 5-month run.

9. Impostora (GMA Network)

Inspired by the 1993 film, “Sa Isang Sulok ng mga Pangarap” and the 2007 Kapuso teleserye with the same title, “Impostora” is consistent top rater on its timeslot. The series features Kris Bernal on her dual role as Nimfa and Rosette.

Due to the positive response of viewers, the series is extended until 2018.

10. Alyas Robin Hood (GMA Network)

Despite being tagged as rip-off of CW’s series “Arrow,” the Dingdong Dantes starrer made a mark in prime time TV for its action-comedy-drama concept. The show bagged the Best Primetime Drama Series and the Best Actor Award in the recently concluded 31st PMPC Star Awards for TV.

11. Destined To Be Yours (GMA Network)

As ‘Phenomenal love team’ AlDub first teleserye, the series effortlessly made a spot on the list due to the huge support from its supporters here and in abroad. Though, “Destined To Be yours” only aired for only 13 weeks, the series already made a mark in Philippine TV as the debut teleserye of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza as a love team.

12. A Love To Last (ABS-CBN)

Starring Bea Alonzo and Ian Veneracion, “A Love To Last” brought unstoppable ‘kilig’ to its viewers for almost nine months on prime time. The show is a consistent trending topic on Twitter every night during its run.

The show also features Iza Calzado, Julia Barretto, JK Labajo, Ronnie Alonte and Enchong Dee.

13. Meant To Be (GMA Network)

“Meant To Be” features Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza with her four equally handsome leading men, Ken Chan, Ivan Dorschner, Jak Roberto and Addy Raj. Fans were divided into four groups, Team Asukal, Team Pandesal, Team Gatas and Team Kape.

The series ended its 24-week run on June 23, 2017, with a total of 118 episodes.

14. Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin (ABS-CBN)

“Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin” marks the reunion of KimErald love team of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson. The show also features Coleen Garcia and Jake Cuenca.

Filipino viewers give a positive response to the TV comeback of KimErald and proved that they still have their chemistry since PBB days.

15. The Good Son (ABS-CBN)

“The Good Son” is the controversial teleserye that tackles the mystery of the true killer of Albert Martinez’ character. The show features, Joshua Garcia, Jerome Ponce, Nash Aguas, Loisa Andalio, Alexa Ilacad, McCoy de Leon, Elisse Joson, Eula Valdez, Mylene Dizon and John Estrada.

Recently, the series became a trending topic online when it was revealed that Calvin (Nash) has a schizophrenia.

16. Mulawin VS. Ravena (GMA Network)

“Mulawin Vs. Ravena” is the sequel to the hit fantaserye “Mulawin” in 2004 starring Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez. The said sequel starred Dennis Trillo, Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana, Lovi Poe, Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Derrick Monasterio, Bea Binene and Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

17. Legally Blind (GMA Network)

Starring Janine Gutierrez, the series tackles the life of Grace who was blinded by accident. She vowed to have her revenge on people who made her life miserable. The show features Mikael Daez, Lauren Young, Marc Abaya and Chanda Romero.

The series ended its 19 weeks run on June 30, 2017, with a total of 93 episodes.
