Avel x Matteo, the high-fashion jeans collaboration of internationally-acclaimed fashion designer Avel Bacudio and actor, singer and triathlete, Matteo Guidicelli, is now open at the Uptown Mall in Uptown Bonifacio with plans of making the easy jeans available in other Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
“We are happy to partner with Megaworld to make Axm available to their mall goers. Our goal is to make our designer jeans accessible to a broader market and Megaworld has enabled us to do that. Their support is truly invaluable,” says Avel.
This fashion line doesn’t only provide high-quality jeans, but it also supports the NLAB school for the blind, a preperatory school for visually impared children in Baguio City. This cause is really close to Avel’s heart for as a young boy, he also had to undergo retinal detachment surgery. Part of the proceeds of AxM will go to the said foundation to continue providing free education to blind kids.
“We are very excited to be part of this project with Avel and Matteo, especially with this kind of opportunity to support our local designers and give back to communities in need at the same time,” says Tefel Pesigan-Valentino, vice president for Business Development and Marketing, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
It took a year for Matteo of planning and creating before he and Avel finally came up with the idea of this sexy yet wearable jeans and for the actual products to come out.
“I approached Avel for the collaboration. I told him I was eager to design a denim line with him,” Matteo shared. “From the start he understood my vision. That’s why we were able to come up with designs that are exactly how I wanted them to be- sexy yet wearable at the same time. I am very happy with how the jeans turned out. They are very me.”
The current collection features seven designs for men while the women line has five. These versatile pieces, with ripped, stretched and lightweight designs can easily transition from day to night. All are created to perfectly suit the fast paced lifestyle we have nowadays.
