  • Mary Joy Apostol accuses Victor Silayan of rape in “Ipaglaban Mo”
  • Will Julie find the justice she deserves? Will she forgive her friend Raisa, who laims she herself had been threatened by their teacher? Will their innocent classmates be acquitted?
  • Don’t miss the “Sabik,” episode of “Ipaglaban Mo,” directed by Froy Allan Leonardo, this Saturday (March 9) after “It’s Showtime” on ABS-CBN.

Mary Joy Apostol (Julie) plays a promising student who is abused by her own teacher, Victor Silayan (Mr. Hontiveros) on “Ipaglaban Mo” this Saturday (March 9).

Julie is a bright and diligent student who has always stood out among her peers. Her parents, Lisa (Mickey Ferriols) and Ruben (Christian Vasquez), have high hopes for her future.

One day, Julie’s friend Raisa (Noemi Oineza) forces her into the girl’s restroom and offers her candy from their teacher, Mr. Hontiveros. As Julie begins feeling nauseous, their teacher suddenly appears and forces himself on her, and begins sexually assaulting her.

Mr. Hontiveros threatens Julie and makes her believe that her classmates—Paul (Andre Garcia), who secretly has a crush on Julie, the playful Mac (Wendel Pamfilo), the rowdy and class prankster, Ref (Nathan Solis), and Julies’ own crush, the good student and gentleman Jake (Edward Barber)—are the real culprits.

After the tragic incident, Julie tries to forget what happened and continues to go to school. She soon feels bodily pains and has psychotic episodes at school. Her parents have her checked by the medico-legal who then finds out that she is a victim of sexual abuse. Julie begins to relive her horrible experience and finally accuses Mr. Hontiveros and her classmates, Jake, Paul, Mac and Ref for the incident.

Mr. Hontiveros denies the allegations and even reiterates that Julie was able to go to school and got high grades in an English examination they had that day. He does get convicted but is soon able to post bail due to seeming inconsistencies in Julie’s stories.

Will Julie find the justice she deserves? Will she forgive her friend Raisa, who claims she herself had been threatened by their teacher? Will their innocent classmates be acquitted?

“Ipaglaban Mo,” the longest-running legal drama on Philippine television, offers viewers entertaining and informative episodes about real-life cases, which they may learn from. It also offers free legal advice to the public every week at ABS-CBN’s Tulong Center in Quezon City.

Don’t miss the “Sabik,” episode of “Ipaglaban Mo,” directed by Froy Allan Leonardo, this Saturday (March 9) after “It’s Showtime” on ABS-CBN.
