Golden Cañedo is the young girl hailed as GMA Network’s Ultimate Clash Champion on September 30, 2018. Earlier in the competition, the young girl was tagged as a ‘Sarah Geronimo look-a-like’ by some of the viewers.
During the release of her 2nd single “Tayo Pa Rin,” Golden expressed how happy and grateful she is to be known as Sarah G’s look-a-like.
“Sobrang saya ko po kasi isa po siya sa naging inspirasyon at idol ko po pagdating sa kantahan na makakatungtung po ako dito kasi isa din po siyang kontesera…isa din po siyang nangangarap noon at ngayon Sarah G na,” was her reaction.
Golden have not yet met Sarah in person. If ever, she wishes to take a photo with her and have a duet.
“Gusto ko po siyang makapicture.. makaduet.. kasi Sarah,” she said.
She somehow felt the pressure of being a Sarah look-a-like. However, she wanted to keep her own identity as a singer.
“Pressured naman po ako kasi Sarah G yan, kaya pressured po para sakin. Mala Sara G nga raw po ako pero gusto ko po talaga mahanap yung identity ko as Golden Canedo kasi para matatak po si Golden.”
Golden’s genre is more on ballads and she wants to be known with it.
On March 30, GMA Music released Golden’s 2nd single “Tayo Pa Rin” on Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital stores worldwide. The song’s music video appeared on YouTube on GMA Music’s YouTube channel.
