- Kris Aquino unfollowed Claudine Barretto on Instagram
- She defended herself from netizens’ reactions and clarified her status with Claudine
- She is happy for Claudine
Kris Aquino put an end on the netizens’ controversial comments on her decision to unfollow Claudine Barreto on Instagram.
Through an Instagram comment, Kris reacted to a netizen who said, ‘Bitter ka kasi in-unfollow mo si Claudine sa Instagram, tulad ng sinabi niya okay kayo, ang tanong okay ka ba sa kanya?’
‘Sir, if I continued to follow and sasabihin niyo naman plastic ako. Habang DEMOCRACY pa ang [Philippines] pabayaan niyo na po ako. We can remain friends in real life… following a person on social media isn’t proof of affection. Keeping a respectful silence is actually a more sincere gesture,’ she said.
The former Queen of All Media’s decision to unfollow her on Instagram was noticed by netizens, after Claudine and sister Gretchen Barretto reconciled.
As we all know, Gretchen sided with Nicko Falcis on his feud with Kris Aquino over money matters. Their conflict and alleged threats were even brought to the court.
Kris clarified that she and Claudine had never been not okay.
‘We have never been not okay. I believe she answered that very clearly and I am happy for her that this bridge has been rebuilt because the truth will always be – ‘how could we not talk about family when family’s all you got?’ – Sincerely I am happy for Clau-clau [with heart emoticon],’ she explained.
This claim was confirmed by Claudine via Instagram live, with sister Gretchen on March 20. One netizen asked Claudine if her friendship with Kris is fine.
Claudine shortly answered, ‘Yes.’
Kris and Claudine worked together on the 2015 film ‘Etiquette for Mistresses,’ among others.
