Maine Mendoza finally spoke up about fans who are still wishing that her tandem with Alden Richards, known as AlDub, was still active and the two were together in real life.
According to the Mission Unstapabol actress, she and Alden used to feel so much pressure when AlDub was still intact to the point that they no longer knew how to act in front of the camera, as fans were expecting a lot from them.
Furthermore, Maine thinks that working on different projects is great for their career growth.
“Hindi naman siguro mawawala ‘yon ang dami talagang fans na before na until now sumosuporta sa amin ni Alden. Pero sa ngayon kasi nage-explore pa kami dalawa and kami dami naming sinusubukan, nabibigyan rin kami pareho ng chance na to work with different actors from different networks. Feeling ko okay yun kasi growth yon for the both of us.
“No pressure, kasi mahirap before kasi yung fans they were expecting a lot from us so parang kami naprepressure kami kahit yung sa friendship namin. Paano ba tayo kikilos in front of camera kung mag super mag e-expect yung mga tao.”
In light of the issue, Maine emphasized that they are trying to remind fans to stop bashing other actors that they work with and to finally accept the reality that they need to do separate projects for the sake of their careers.

“Kami naman ni Alden, feeling ko hindi naman kami nagkulang kasi minsan nireremind naman naming sila pag may chance kinakausap namin. Pero meron talagang hindi naniniwala, so kung happy sila don hayaan na lang.”
Maine confirmed the controversial dinner photo is NOT edited
Maine also ended speculations regarding a photo of herself with Arjo Atayde’s family having dinner. Some diehard AlDub fans believed the photo was edited, but Maine herself confirmed that she was actually the one who initiated the dinner. Maine even added that Arjo is really close to her siblings compared to her.
“Napag-usapan lang po before, kasi hindi na po nasundan ung na meet ko yung parents sa bahay nila. Eh sakto ung movies, nag segue ako so parang sabi ko kay Arjo na to na may free time na ako dinner na tayo. Mas close pa nga sila ng kapatid ko kaysa sa akin. Ganun po ka established yung relationship sa mga kapatid ko.”
