Some netizens are calling out rich people for being insensitive amidst the coronavirus crisis.

In a tweet by @AlPinoy, he slammed rich Filipinos who inadvertently flaunt their money through hoarding of goods.

Dear Rich Filipinos,
This isn’t the time to flaunt your money by buying more than what you need. This isn’t the time to be in that frame of mind, “I can buy you, your friends and this club!” Remember w/o the poor , your world will come to a halt. So pls don’t be an ass #Covid_19

Times like these cant help feeling inferior. Sabi ko na lang sa sarili ko hanggat bukas ang palengke at sarisari stores hindi tayo magugutom. 😔 Magaling ang Pinoy, we will survive all odds. 😊

On Thursday, March 12, Metro Manila residents flocked to grocery stores resulting in empty shelves and long queues.

This after President Duterte announced the one-month “community quarantine” from March 15 to April 14, 2020.

Malacanang, through the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, banned land, air, and sea travel in and out of NCR. The announcement caused Metro Manila residents to panic which resulted in some panic buying and hoarding of groceries and alcohol and other cleaning supplies.

Meanwhile, aside from panic buyers and hoarders, other netizens also called out Heart Evangelista for being ‘insensitive’ in the time of COVID-19 crisis.

Heart just recently posted her DIY reusable mask adorned with Hermes ribbon.

The post didn’t sit well with netizens who called her out for flaunting her privileged life in spite of ordinary people struggling to find masks and alcohol for themselves.

yes heart evangelista is insensitive and tone-deaf af

sa dami nang na uubusan ng face mask at alcohol sa pilipinas, flaunting how rich and privileged u are should leave a bad taste in anyone’s mouth

argue with your mom if u think otherwise
