Marian Rivera and Vice Ganda expressed disgust on social media against scammers who used their names to deceive others.

They warned the public against these users will no longer deceive people.

In her Instagram story, Marian posted a screenshot of a fake account named “Marian Rivera Dantes” with the caption: “Pawang kasinungalingan po ito.” (This is a lie).

The said Facebook page posted that it was giving away P5,000 to all Kapuso fans.

The scammer pretended to be “Marian” said she is the handler of the page. She told those who wanted the money to send her a message.

Fans were quick to respond by reporting the fake Marian Rivera Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda took to Instagram his rage over scammers. “Mga manggagantso! Mga Demonyo!” he said, as he posted some screenshots and warned people about the fake accounts.

The scammer’s Facebook page, “Vice Ganda Family” used Vice and his beau Ion Perez’s photos as display and cover photos.

On the page, a particular post asked for people’s essential information so they could give them P5,000.

It’s a good thing to note that his followers are as witty as he is.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology recently asked Filipinos to be mindful of their safety online, as the COVID-19 lockdown requires them to stay at home for at least a month.

To avoid falling for online scam traps, the public is asked to review and verify the accounts they follow.
