Miriam Defensor-Santiago confirmed today that Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is her running mate for the 2016 polls.
The feisty lady senator revealed this at the Philippine Judges Association event held in Pasay City, wherein she was inducted to its Hall of Fame.
Senator Santiago said of her decision, “I think we mutually chose each other, our two camps. They happen to cross each other.Telephone lines happen to cross each other. It’s coincidental…one camp was calling the other”.
Senator Santiago announced her presidential bid last Tuesday, when she launched the second installment to her bestselling book, “Stupid is Forever”. She did not reveal her VP at that time but gave the clue that her VP already filed his candidacy.
A few minutes after her announcement, Senator Bongbong Marcos filed his Certificate of Candidacy for Vice-President at COMELEC.
Senator Bongbong Marcos hinted about his team up with Senator Santiago on social media, on the same day of his COC filing. He tweeted a black and white picture of him and Miriam, side by side, with the caption ” Remembering our RH deliberations. #WayBackWednesday”.
Senator Santiago is set to file her COC this coming Friday.
