Lea Salonga expresses disappointment as K-pop group BTS loses its Grammy award

Broadway actress and singer Lea Salonga took to social media to express her support to the Korean boy group BTS after the group lost its first Grammy nomination.

BTS is a seven-member Korean group known for co-writing and co-producing their brand of music.

The group got recently nominated for the best pop duo/group performance for their song Dynamite in the Grammy Awards 2021.

When the best pop duo/group performance was revealed, on BTS’ official twitter account, the reaction of its members was posted. Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande took home the award for their song Rain on Me.

Salonga, a confessed BTS fan, posted on twitter her disappointment over the group losing at the Grammy’s but thought that the boy band won the hearts of all their fans through their music.

You guys are such a class act, even at that moment. Army is proud, because of the music you make and how you make everyone feel. Thank you.

“You guys are such a class act, even at that moment. Army (BTS fans) is proud, because of the music you make and how you make everyone feel. Thank you,” she wrote in reply to BTS’s post.

She also posted that BTS is “classy,” “graceful,” and “gracious” and noted that the group will be back in the prestigious event soon.

“Classy. Graceful. Gracious. They will be back. I know they will be back,” said Salonga.

In another Tweet, Salonga mentioned that although she was upset that BTS didn’t win their nomination, the win of Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande should still be celebrated.

“Like many of the fans, I was upset they didn’t win, but at the same time celebrate the win of Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande.

“Their collaboration was excellent too,” she added.
