Aiai Delas Alas considers her songs a bust, releases new song ‘Siomai (what?)’

Comedienne-Singer Aiai Delas Alas admitted that despite being dubbed as the “Comedy Concert Queen”, she has not made any hit songs.

During a conversation with Boy Abunda, Delas Alas and the veteran host agreed that her songs were “mediocre”.

“Sinabi ni Boy Abunda eh. Sabi niya bakit wala akong sumisikat na kanta. Sabi ko hayaan mo na amang, ganyan talaga ang buhay,” narrated Delas Alas.

Although she admitted that her songs were unpopular, fans adore her because of how she mixes singing with comedy, even earning her the moniker, Comedy Concert Queen, which was given by Martin Nievera.

Also, her singing career was fruitful. In 2003, after transferring from GMA Network to ABS-CBN, when she landed a lead role in the movie, “Ang Tanging Ina” under Star Cinema, she also sang its OST, “Ang Tanging Ina”.

And contrary to her belief that her songs were a bust, in 2005, back when Delas Alas was under Star Music, released a single, “Si Manloloko” that became popular, now with over 400k views on YouTube. She also had another hit song, “Walang Pinipili,” which was released in 2017 featuring Ex-Batallion.

Before leaving ABS-CBN to return to GMA Network, Delas Alas had an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) album titled, “ADA: The EDM Diva” under her pseudonym, ADA. And on November 9, 2014, she performed the album’s carrier single, “Nandito Lang Ako” on ASAP 19.

She also has done funny live performances, singing covers of Korean songs. And now, she recently released yet a song that is basically about a delicacy—siomai (asian dumpling). Her single, “Siomai (what?)” is under Viva records and can be listened via Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube music.
