At the start of October, the Kapamilya Network already teased its viewers and supporters of what to expect this month as they revealed casts of some of their most-anticipated shows.
Right off the bat, Monday, October 4, ABS-CBN revealed the cast for its upcoming series 2 Good 2 Be True.
The romantic-comedy show is going to be KathNiel’s return to Philippine television. Filmmaker Mae Cruz-Alviar will direct it, who helmed Kathryn Bernardo’s and Daniel Padilla’s 2017 Can’t Help Falling in Love movie.
Of course, Kathryn and Daniel will be top-billing this show. According to ABS-CBN, they will be joined by a premiere cast in Kristel Fulgar, Bianca de Vera, Pamu Pamorada, Matt Evans, Gillian Vicencio, Yves Flores, and Alyssa Muhlach. There will also be veteran actors in the series including Gelli de Belen, Smokey Manaloto, Romnick Sarmenta, Cris Villanueva, Jenny Miller, Irma Adlawan, Gloria Diaz, and Ronaldo Valdez.
Unfortunately for KathNiel fans, the show’s details are currently being kept under wraps, so stay tuned for updates regarding the series.
Then on Tuesday, October 5, ABS-CBN’s take on the iconic superheroine Darna is gradually materializing as the Network announced the show’s cast.
As early as 2019, Jane de Leon has been confirmed to have landed the lead role after actress Liza Soberano backed out due to health reasons. Her partner in the series is Joshua Garcia, playing a police officer named Bryan Samonte Robles.
Actress Iza Calzado will have special participation as she plays Leonor Custodio, the first Darna and Narda’s (Jane) mother.
Zaijian Jaranilla will play Ricardo Custodio or Ding, Narda’s brother/sidekick.
Also, Rio Locsin, who played Darna in the 1979 film Bira, Darna, Bira, will be part of the series adaptation.
Joining them is a powerful cast that includes Kiko Estrada, Richard Quan, Simon Ibarra, Levi Ignacio, Joj Agpangan, Mark Manicad, Young JV, LA Santos, Yogo Singh, Zeppi Borromeo, Marvin Yap, Tart Carlos, and Gerald Acao.
In the meantime, the actress who will play Darna’s nemesis, Valentina, is yet to be revealed.
The last surprise of ABS-CBN happened on Wednesday, October 6, when the upcoming edition of the Kapamilya longest-running reality game show Pinoy Big Brother unveiled its first set of celebrity housemates.
Big Brother revealed that for PBB Kumunity Season 10, the first celebrities to enter his House were Volleyball phenom Alyssa Valdez, musician KD Estrada, and social media star Madam Inutz. Miss Grand International 2020 Samantha Bernardo, Star Magic artist Anji Salvacion and comedian TJ Valderama were added as new housemates on the second day. More to be revealed in few days.
