Netizens criticize Robin Padilla’s platform for 2022 elections after hitting back on social media user

On January 11, actor and senatorial aspirant Robin Padilla answered a netizen who compared his political platform for the 2022 elections to a grade-six class president.

On his facebook account, Padilla pointed to other politicians who failed to fulfill their promises.

As a result, netizens started posting their thoughts on Padilla’s political platform.

Kapuso host Kiko Rustia wrote that he won’t compare Padilla to a six-grader class president, but to Senator Bato Dela Rosa.

He then shared a comparison of Atty. Chel Diokno’s detailed resumé and platform to Padilla’s.

Netizens expressed disappointment in Padilla’s plans for the 2022 elections.

Robin Padilla’s ultimate use is to be a blueprint on how to build a fucking idiot. https://t.co/ItU60naPhX

If ever u feel so dumb in your life, just remember that Robin Padilla runs for Senator and have these proposed platforms pic.twitter.com/68vvPmxauc

Others questioned his credentials for running in a senate seat compared to other aspirants.

Ikaw yong poporma at magdadrama lang doon like you do right now at pawn ng mga kampon ng kasamaan sa pamumulitika.

Seriously ROBIN PADILLA? Why can’t you focus on movies? What do you know about politics?????

Sobrang bored na ba ng mga artista na if you don’t have shows/movies, option nyo lang is politics? What an insult to actual lawyers and people with actual credentials for this job! https://t.co/8NxseIX3sE

Some echoed the sentiments of the netizen who criticized Padilla’s platform and compared it to a grade six student’s.

However, some pointed out the effectiveness of Padilla’s ‘populist antics’ with his platform.

Totoo na wala talagang kwenta itong "plataporma" kuno ni Robin Padilla, but we shouldn't take it as insignificant.

This is an effective campaign material.

It's a populist antic. Simple at broad to the point na walang material program, pero it is easily understood. pic.twitter.com/AVEGoHj89h

…and yet robin padilla is more likely to win hayyyyyyyys. https://t.co/wj3jyzTgyu

Here is a list of Padilla’s 2022 platform written as verbatim:

  • Decentralization at federalismo
  • Pag-ahon sa kahirapan
  • Pagkakaisa at pagtutulungan
  • Employment equality
  • Kaalaman at kakayahan sa pagnenegosyo

Earlier, Padilla announced his plans of running for Senator in the 2022 elections despite disapproval from some of his friends.
