On January 17, Kapamilya actress Sue Ramirez shared her thoughts on the difference between The Broken Marriage Vow from The World of the Married.

During the global media conference for the local adaptation of the said hit series, Ramirez said that the Filipino audience would relate more to the Philippine adaptation of Doctor Foster.

“We can make sure na talagang iniba po namin, iba po ang mararamdaman ninyo. Siguro same level of gigil, pero iba po ang puso nito. Mas makaka-relate po kayo dito kasi mas close to home eh. Kasi tayo-tayo na ‘to. So guaranteed, iba po talaga ang portrayal ng Lexy Lucero kay Da Kyung.”

Ramirez takes on the Filipino counterpart of the Da Kyung, portrayed by Korean Actress Han So-hee.

She also teased intense scenes that Filipino viewers can expect with their teleserye.

She then noted the difficulty of portraying the role of Lexy Illustre in the series.

“Iba po talaga ‘yung puso nito, iba po ‘yung pagkakagawa namin, iba talaga ‘yung atake noong Lexy. At first, it was a struggle of course, medyo malayo po ako doon sa character ni Lexy. Pero, with the guidance nga of characters and co-actors naabot namin ‘yung goal namin. And makakaasa kayo na hindi ito katulad ng mga napanood na ninyo noon.”

She also acknowledged the opportunity she received in working on a series under the partnership of ABS-CBN and the streaming service VIU.

“I think this project is a big, big opportunity with our partners in VIU and of course, Dreamscape and ABS-CBN, medyo malaking hakbang po ito doon sa ladder, doon sa hagdan na sinasabi ko. So I think this is the biggest blessing and I’m so so grateful and thankful talaga na ako po ‘yung napili nila to play Lexy.”

Ramirez, together with Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo, and Zaijian Jaranilla star in the Philippine adaptation of the BBC series Doctor Foster, The Broken Marriage Vow.

Viewers can catch the early release of each episode on January 22 on iWantTFC and VIU, 48 hours before its TV broadcast.

The teleserye airs on January 24 at 8:40 PM via Kapamilya Channel, TV5, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, ABS-CBN Entertainment platforms (YouTube and Facebook), and TFC.
