Rob Guinto, Ayanna Misola, and Gab Lagman explained on Friday, August 19, that starting in the sexy industry as sexy stars can lead to versatile actors in the future.
During the virtual media conference for their newest sexy flick Bula, Guinto pointed out that doing sexy films is just a “stepping stone” for their goal—of becoming serious actors.
“Kasi naman po hindi naman din ito panghabambuhay na gagawin namin ‘tong pagpapa-sexy. Sabihin natin na stepping stone namin ito, and I think na may mga bagay pa kami, or may mga talent pa kami na kaya naming ilabas,” she said in front of the press, including LionhearTV.
The sexy star added, “‘Yun nga ang sinasabi natin na gusto naming maging versatile sa lahat ng mga role na gagawin namin at gagampanan namin. Mas okay din iyon para mas ma-mold din ang character namin hindi lang bilang isang artista kundi bilang isang tao.”
Misola also agreed with her co-star, pointing out that it also gives them an advantage, being more daring and having the guts to play various characters.
“Pero sobrang okay na na-experience namin ito sa simula pa lang. Kasi at least kami, kaya naming gawin ang hindi kaya ng iba.”
Lagman, who is a newbie in doing sexy projects, considered it a challenge, a hurdle he must overcome to be a versatile actor.
“Siyempre, galing sa teleserye, and then moving on sa sexy film, I feel like doing those mga scenes will make me a versatile actor. It will give me a new challenge sa sarili ko, and ‘yun nga, marami akong natutunan every role na nabibigay sa akin. I feel like it will make me a versatile actor and a better actor.”
Bobby Bonifacio Jr. directs Bula. It tells the story of a sexually-driven laundromat personnel Meldie (Misola), and a policeman named Jacob (Lagman).
Both are in a relationship before meeting each other but have found ways to satisfy one another’s sexual appetite.
The movie will premiere on Vivamax on September 2.
