Singer Jona Viray stunned the audience and even her microphone with her singing voice as it malfunctioned during a performance.

Viray is known for her belting technique, and melismatic singing style, and has the ability to sing operatic arias. She’s dubbed as the country’s Fearless Diva.

During a private lounge on April 30, Viray had a song performance where she sang Fantasia Barrino’s I Believe.

Also present at the gathering were It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda and R&B Queen Kyla.

TikTok user Noul Burce Filan posted Viray’s performance. Viray sang her piece beautifully, but at the end of her performance, the microphone died on her–leaving her stunned.

In the comment section, netizens praised her singing and even claimed that her voice made the microphone give up.

In Viray’s Twitter post on May 1, she retweeted her I Believe performance and laughed about her microphone mishap.

“thank you pero sabi ng mic ko sa dulo amaccana raw HAHAHA.”

Jona Viray is currently part of It’s Showtime’s five-member judging panel for the week-long semifinals of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
