On May 24, new Viva artist Erika Balagtas voiced her opinion on sexy dancers trying to make a living.
At the media conference for Star Dancer, which LionhearTV covered, Balagtas responded to a question on how she deals with the public asking her about being a sexy dancer [who tries to make a living].
Balagtas responded, “Yes, po kasi there’s no shame in that naman po. And 2023 na po so hindi na po uso ang ‘slut-shaming.’ Yun lang po.”
As for getting into showbiz, Balagtas said she considered her first acting role as a big step, noting how it boosted her confidence.
“Sa akin po naman, this is a big step po. Kasi introvert po ako, at sobrang mahiyain. Tapos sobrang na-boost po ‘yung confidence ko noong nag-start po kaming mag-shoot and first movie ko nga po ito.”
She also noted how she wanted to experience it, especially since she’s new to the showbiz industry.
“Small star po pero madaming project kasi para sa akin, kapag mas madaming project, mas madami po akong ma-eexperience. Mas matuto pa po ako.”
As for her social media presence, Balagtas has a Tiktok account with 378.7K followers and 2.2M likes. She also has an Instagram account with 110K followers.
The upcoming VivaMax film Star Dancer features Rose Van Ginkel, Denise Esteban, and Arron Villaflor. The cast also has young Viva stars like Arah Alonzo, Karl Aquino, and Billy Villeta.
Under the direction of Pam Miras, Star Dancer streams on Vivamax starting June 2.
