On July 31, artist BJ ‘Tolits’ Forbes revealed the sad truth about his showbiz hiatus during his peak as a child star.

At the media conference for ‘The Special Gift,’ which LionhearTV covered, Forbes narrated how his family got scammed with their home and how it impacted his family financially.

I’m trying to find my dad dahil–lumagapak ako sa buhay, tapos wala akong matakbuhan. I mean di ko masisi ‘yung nanay ko, but wala ring tumutulong sa akin. Wala ‘yung tatay ko. So I’m incomplete.”

He then admitted that he felt depressed and had suicidal thoughts after what happened.

He then cited that go on hiatus from showbiz to focus on his well-being.

He then discussed how he recovered from depression and got into theater acting.

He then expressed that he had no regrets about his choice to go on hiatus.

“And I have no regrets with that kung hindi man nagtuloy-tuloy ‘yung pag-angat ko, the same para sa akin.

He then asserted that he doesn’t mind that people call him ‘laos’ or that he lost his chance to be a superstar.

Finally, he wanted to inspire other people with his life story.

And it’s part of my story na nagiging inspiration sa marami. So kung hindi man po ako naging tuloy-tuloy sa pagiging superstar, it’s part of Gods plan for me and hindi po ako nanghihinayang doon at masaya po ako.”

Earlier, Forbes emotionally detailed his struggles as a father after the hospitalization of his daughter Janella who experienced a stroke after a seizure.

As for their upcoming film, the RCGomez Entertainment film stars Franchesco Maafi, Soliman Cruz, Migui Moreno, Mike Lloren, Malou Canzana, Romina Cauilan, Ella Sheen, Angelo Gomez, and BJ ‘Tolits’ Forbes.

Produced by Roy Gomez and directed by Lawrence Roxas, ‘The Special Gift’ opens in cinemas soon.
