On December 19, Kapuso stars Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega narrated their experience working on the set of their first Kapuso film together.
At the media conference for ‘Firefly,’ which LionhearTV covered, Tanfelix highlighted his excitement for Ortega’s first movie project.
“Unang-una, siyempre proud ako kay Ysabel kasi first movie niya ‘to. And nag-eenjoy ako na ma-meet ni Ysabel ‘yung isa sa mga favorite directors ko na si Direk Zig.”
Ortega echoed Tanfelix’s excitement, noting how much she enjoyed working with her on-screen partner.
“Ako, sobrang na-enjoy ko ‘yung experience na magshoot ng pelikulang ‘to with Miguel. Tulad nga ng sinabi ni Miguel, it’s my first movie.”
The two also discussed what it was like working with their director, Zig Dulay.
Tanfelix emphasized how he enjoyed working with their director and with Ortega.
“Gusto ko ma-share sa kaniya kung ano ‘yung mga dahilan kung bakit ko favorite si Direk Zig. And para sa akin, learning process pa rin na kahit na mag-20 years na ako sa industry, everytime na makakasama ko si Direk Zig, ang dami ko pa ring natutunan about sa acting, about sa filmmaking, dahil gusto kong mag-director din.Â
“Masaya, nag-enjoy ako, para lang kaming nagbabakasyon ni Ysabel dahil nasa Bicol Region kami.”
Ortega recounted how their director guided them throughout the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 movie.
“And excited din ako like what Miguel said, he’s favorite director is si Direk Zig. Even before kami nag-Firefly, palagi na niyang nakukwento sa akin si Direk. So I was excited to learn from him, to work with him. Talagang sobrang grateful ako kasi I felt like I was guided throughout the movie.Â
“Kasi, siyempre, iba ‘yung kapag gumagawa ka ng pelikula sa teleserye eh. Iba ‘yung process sa artista. So I was just very grateful kasi ayun, nandoon si Miguel all throughout to help me, to guide me, to enjoy the experience with me.”
‘Firefly,’Â under GMA Public Affairs, stars Alessandra de Rossi, Euwann Mikaell, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Yayo Aguila, Max Collins, and Cherry Pie Picache with a special participation from Dingdong Dantes.
Under the direction of Zig Dulay, ‘Firefly’ opens in cinemas on December 25 during the MMFF 2023.
