Actress-host Kim Chiu was the subject of playful banter regarding her relationship status during a recent segment of the show.
The light-hearted exchange occurred during the ‘EXpecially For You’ segment on Friday, February 9, 2024.
Vice Ganda, one of the show’s hosts, jokingly advised a participant to pray for their desire to find a new boyfriend, with co-host Amy Perez adding suggestions about listing desired qualities in a partner and praying for them.
This prompted co-host Vhong Navarro to jest with Kim, asking her jokingly, “Kim saan ka pupunta?” Kim responded with a light-hearted remark, stating, “Pray lang ako!”
Vice then joined in on the teasing, suggesting, “Pray tayo with Kim!” The group playfully approached Kim, who tried to evade their antics.
In a humorous moment, they even jokingly laid hands on Kim as if to pray over her, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Vice then lightened the mood by singing a humorous song about the joys of single life, but also added a sincere wish for Kim’s heart’s desires to be fulfilled.
Despite the playful teasing, Kim’s recent breakup with her longtime boyfriend, Xian Lim, seemed to linger in the background. Both Kim and Xian currently star in primetime TV shows airing on rival networks.
Vice jokingly suggested that ABS-CBN Production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi should find a match for Kim, given Xian’s affiliation with a different network. Kim laughed along with the jest, expressing humor but also hinting at the challenges she may be facing post-breakup.
As of now, Kim and Xian have not publicly disclosed the reasons behind their split, which occurred towards the end of 2023.
