Kapuso Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid vowed to remain grounded despite his growing fame and success.
During the media conference for ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’ held on January 13, 2025, at Gateway 2 in Cubao, Quezon City, Ruru reflected on his journey and how he strives to inspire others.
The event highlighted the respect and admiration Ruru earned from his colleagues, with several co-stars praising his professionalism, humility, and dedication to his craft. The second season of ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’, one of GMA Network’s flagship primetime shows, is set to premiere on January 30, 2025.
Ruru’s castmates and production team spoke highly of his leadership on set and his unwavering humility. These accolades, particularly from seasoned actors, deeply moved Ruru, who began his career in 2012 as a contestant on GMA Network’s ‘Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break’.
“Nakakatuwa po, siyempre mapansin lamang ng mga tinitingala nating artista o mga nirerespeto nating mga senior actors,” Ruru said. “Nakakatuwa dahil hindi nila nakakalimutan ‘yung journey ko at kung paano ako nagsimula.”
Despite his achievements, Ruru remains mindful of his beginnings and the challenges he overcame. He stressed the importance of gratitude and staying humble:
“Every day, lagi akong nagpapasalamat kasi alam ko anytime na gustuhin, mawawala ito. Ang dali lang naman mawala. Kaya para sa akin, hindi ko siya tini-take for granted. Ayoko rin maging mayabang o lumaki ang ulo ko.”
Ruru added that his experiences have shaped him and fueled his desire to uplift others who face similar struggles:
“Ang hirap noong dinaan-daanan ka lang o hindi ka nirerespeto. Gusto kong gamitin itong mga nangyayari sa akin to give inspiration sa mga nangangarap at dumadaan sa mga pagsubok.”
Ruru hopes his story serves as motivation for those striving to achieve their dreams. His faith in God and commitment to hard work remain central to his journey:
“Basta magpursigi ka at manalig ka sa Panginoon, kung ano ang nakalaan para sa atin, mangyayari.”
