Content creator and social media personality Whamos Cruz recently confirmed undergoing surgery for hernia, also known locally as luslos, sharing the news with his followers through a Facebook video titled “PINA OPERA KO ANG LUSLOS KO.”
In the video, Whamos is seen confined in a hospital room. According to health resources, a hernia refers to the bulging of an organ through a weak spot in the muscle or surrounding tissue, often around the groin area.
His partner, Antonette Gail Del Rosario, shared that Whamos had been dealing with the condition since childhood. On July 1, Whamos posted a health update saying the surgery had been successfully completed. He expressed gratitude to the medical staff who took care of him and to everyone who sent messages of concern.
Whamos also gave a heartfelt thanks to Antonette for personally looking after him during recovery. In another update on July 2, he said he is now on bedrest while recovering from the procedure.
However, what caught many netizens by surprise was the ₱409,000 hospital bill, which Whamos disclosed in his post.
The story took another turn after viewers of the video pointed out that Whamos ended the clip with a promotion for an online gambling app, shortly after thanking God for his recovery. This drew backlash from several netizens who felt the move was inappropriate, especially considering the context of the video.
Despite the mixed reactions, many fans continue to wish Whamos a speedy recovery and hope for more thoughtful content moving forward.
