Veteran actor Gabby Concepcion had some playful teasing for his My Father’s Wife co-stars Kylie Padilla and Jak Roberto, whose on-screen chemistry—and off-screen closeness—have become one of the most talked-about parts of the hit Kapuso afternoon drama.

During an interview with Nelson Canlas for GMA Network’s ’24 Oras’, Gabby lightheartedly asked his younger co-stars how they were coping with sepanx (separation anxiety) now that the series is nearing its finale.
“’Pag nagtatapos ang teleserye, hindi ba nagkakaroon kayo ng parang separation anxiety?” Gabby asked, before turning to Jak and Kylie with a mischievous grin. “Kayo bang dalawa, ano bang nararamdaman ninyo? Meron bang gano’ng feeling?”
The two couldn’t help but laugh as Gabby continued to tease them, even jokingly coining a new tandem name for the pair.
“Hindi na JakLie. KyJak na!” the actor quipped, explaining, “Kay Jak siya, ‘di ba?”
Both Kylie and Jak laughed off the teasing, with Kylie admitting that sepanx is normal when you’ve grown close to your co-workers.
“For sure meron ‘yan,” Kylie said. “Hindi naman lahat ng project, you know, but kapag napamahal ka sa prod at naging close ka sa mga kasama mo—parang naging pamilya mo na—meron talagang separation anxiety.”
Jak, meanwhile, tried to downplay the speculation about their closeness.
“Close lang talaga kami. Sobrang komportable namin sa isa’t isa, ganun,” he said, smiling.

But when he threw the question back at Kylie—“Ano ba, ikaw nga ang sumagot”—the actress was caught off guard and simply laughed.
“Ito na lang, what you see is what you get,” she replied, before quipping, “Parang sounds familiar. It is what it is!”
Jak later admitted that Kylie has become an important person to him, saying, “Importante siya sa ’kin,” while wiping away sweat as Nelson joked that he was getting nervous under the spotlight.
The sweet and playful exchange between the two quickly made rounds online, with fans of the “JakLie” pairing—now dubbed “KyJak” by Gabby himself—sharing clips of their interaction and rooting for the two stars to team up again in future projects.
In ‘My Father’s Wife’, Kylie and Jak play a married couple whose love and loyalty are tested by secrets and moral dilemmas. The series, which also stars Gabby Concepcion, continues to air weekday afternoons on GMA Afternoon Prime, right after ‘It’s Showtime’.
