Actress-dancer Sunshine Garcia admitted that her marriage to Bulacan Vice Governor Alex Castro is not perfect, but emphasized that love and respect remain at the core of their relationship.

In an interview on GMA Network’s morning show ‘Unang Hirit’ on February 20, Sunshine shared how grateful she is that her husband supports her passions, including her continued involvement with the SexBomb Girls.
“Sobra akong napa-proud sa kanya, thankful ako sa kanya dahil sinusuportahan niya kung ano yung gusto kong gawin,” she said.
She revealed that some people have advised Castro to stop her from dancing because of his political position.
However, according to Sunshine, her husband’s response has always been consistent.
When asked whether she has ever felt controlled by her husband, Sunshine clarified that while they have agreements—especially when she is in Bulacan—she does not feel restricted.
“Hindi siya yung, ‘Wag mong suutin yan. Ay, bakit ganyan ang suot mo? Palit.’
She stressed that marriage is not about ownership.
“Pareho naming sinusuportahan yung gusto namin. Huwag mong gawin yan. Hindi ka dapat ganito. Hindi ka dapat…’ Hindi ganu’n, e. So, nagbibigayan kaming dalawa.
She added that what works for one couple may not work for another.
After her guesting, Sunshine also shared a reflective post on Instagram about relationships.
“Walang ‘PERFECT’ life, relationship or marriage. As long na ang relationship nyo ay hindi toxic, nakakasakal, controlling, manipulative, one sided, hindi nanakit physical and emotional then all goods kayo.
Her statements come amid recent discussions involving Alvin Aragon, who previously commented on the SexBomb Girls’ performances and suggested that politicians’ wives should refrain from certain types of dancing and attire.
While Sunshine and Alex have declined to directly comment on the controversy, some netizens speculated that her recent remarks may contain subtle references to the issue.
