GMA Network continued to dominate the Philippine television ratings, with its flagship newscast ‘24 Oras’ and primetime drama ‘Master Cutter’ consistently occupying the top spots, while Kapamilya noontime program ‘It’s Showtime’ maintained its lead over TV5’s ‘EAT…Bulaga.’

According to the latest ratings reports from the Nielsen NUTAM People survey, ‘24 Oras’ and ‘Master Cutter’ remained among the most-watched programs during the period. Meanwhile, ‘It’s Showtime’ continued to hold an advantage over ‘EAT…Bulaga’ in the noontime block.

On Monday, August 3, ‘24 Oras’ opened the week strongly with 12.1 percent rating, placing it at number one on the overall ratings board. ‘Master Cutter’ followed in second place with an 11.2 percent rating, comfortably ahead of rival ‘Sigabo,’ which posted 7.7 percent.

Meanwhile, ‘It’s Showtime’ ranked eighth overall with a 5.0 percent rating, maintaining its lead over ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which recorded 3.2 percent or a 1.8-percentage-point margin.

The following day, Tuesday, August 4, ‘24 Oras’ once again topped the overall ratings chart with an 11.7 percent rating. Although ‘Master Cutter’ slightly dipped to 10.7 percent, it remained ahead of ‘Sigabo,’ which again registered 7.7 percent.

‘It’s Showtime’ also strengthened its position in the noontime race, increasing to 5.5 percent and maintaining its advantage over ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which remained at 3.2 percent.

By midweek, on Wednesday, August 5, ‘24 Oras’ returned to the 12.1 percent mark to retain the number-one position. ‘Master Cutter’ followed with 11.0 percent, continuing to outperform ‘Sigabo,’ which once again settled at 7.7 percent.

‘It’s Showtime,’ meanwhile, posted a 4.7 percent rating and remained in eighth place overall. Despite the slight decline, it continued to lead ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which registered 2.9 percent.

The ratings race remained largely unchanged on Thursday, August 6, as ‘24 Oras’ and ‘Master Cutter’ sustained their respective leads. The Kapuso flagship newscast recorded a 12.0 percent rating, while ‘Master Cutter’ posted 11.2 percent. ‘Sigabo’ improved slightly to 8.1 percent but remained behind its Kapuso rival.

In the noontime battle, ‘It’s Showtime’ further increased its rating to 5.9 percent, strengthening its lead over ‘EAT…Bulaga,’ which registered 3.8 percent. The gap between the two programs stood at 2.1 percentage points.

The latest figures continues to reflect how television networks continue to compete for a fragmented Filipino audience.
