Jennylyn Mercado’s longtime talent manager Becky Aguila has publicly challenged Patrick Garcia’s version of their 18-year-old controversy, accusing the actor of reopening an issue that had already been left in the past.

Patrick recently spoke to Ogie Diaz about his former relationship with Jennylyn and their son Alex Jazz, denying that he abandoned the actress during her pregnancy and explaining why he had remained silent about their breakup for nearly two decades.

He said he finally decided to tell his side after his daughter Michelle began receiving negative comments because of controversies associated with him.

While Jennylyn has chosen not to publicly respond to Patrick’s revelations, Becky addressed the actor in a lengthy Facebook post—not as Jennylyn’s manager, she stressed, but as someone who considers herself the actress’ second mother.

“Hi Patrick. Long time no see or talk/txt. Nakakabigla naman pasabog mo. I am posting this, not as Jen’s manager, but as her second mom,” Becky began. “Why did u have to resort to an interview? Kahit wala na si Tita Lydia (nanay ni Jennylyn), andito pa naman ako.”

Becky said she was hurt for Jennylyn and questioned why Patrick chose a public interview to address the bashing involving his daughter.

“Ayokong makasakit at makasira ng image pero nasasaktan ako for Jen. Sa dami ng pagkukulang mo ke Jen lalo na kay Jazz, mas inintindi mo pa magpa interview to protect your daughter from bashers at the expense of Jen and Jazz. Nakalimutan mo yata that she is the mother of your child.”

Becky argued that Patrick could have approached her first if he had concerns that needed to be discussed with Jennylyn and her husband Dennis Trillo.

“Me concerns ka pala sana nag reach out ka na lang sa akin at maayos natin nailatag to with Jen and Dennis at madali naman sila kausap,” she said.

She further alleged that there were things Patrick had done in the past that hurt Jennylyn but that the actress had chosen not to discuss publicly.

“There are a lot of things you did to hurt her, and never niya kwinento yun sa iba bilang respeto sa iyo at tatay ka ng anak ninyo at para sa pamilya mo rin na nananahimik na. Pero lahat yun naalala ko.”

Becky then directly disputed the completeness and accuracy of Patrick’s account, although she did not specify in the post which parts she believed were incorrect.

“Pasensya na Patrick pero yung truth mo maraming kulang at dagdag. Nanahimik na nanay mo, binuhay mo ulit ang issue and this is all on you,” she wrote. “I hope nakatulong nga ito sa daughter mo. And hopefully you are satisfied with all the things you’ve done.”

She ended her message with a strongly worded statement directed at Patrick.

“All I can say is that you never deserved Jen’s love in the first place. And you will never earn my respect.”

Patrick had earlier maintained in his interview with Diaz that he did not abandon Jennylyn and said he had stayed silent about their breakup for 18 years. He also revealed that he has not seen Jazz since December 2017.

Jennylyn’s management, meanwhile, has said that the actress will not grant interviews or issue further comments on the controversy out of respect for the privacy and peace of mind of both families.
