Richard Yap is the newbie actor who plays the role of businessman Chen Sy (more popularly known as Papa Chen), the father of Jade (played by Kim Chiu) in ABS-CBN’s primetime series “My Binondo Girl,” can now claim it, that he’s the newest Kapamilya Heartthrob and “Papa ng Bayan.”
Richard Yap, 44, is 100% Chinese but was born and raised in Cebu. He is a graduate of De La Salle University and is married with 2 kids. He previously worked in a marketing company and as a commercial model. He appeared in TV commercials of Chowking and a telephone company. Who would have thought that he can still make it and easily achieve “hearththrob” status in a network already crowded with good-looking, talented young men?
