What a year it was for the entertainment industry!

Looking back, 2012 has been a very colorful, intriguing and interesting year. Along the way, some celebrities shined even brighter, while others have failed to sustain their spot in the limelight. More to that, new personalities have emerged, which made the show business scene way and beyond entertaining! So who won big in 2012?

Check out our list:

Paulo Avelino. With his stellar performance as “Nathan” in “Walang Hanngan”, Paulo has made an enormous mark in many Filipino household last 2012. It opened then a lot of opportunities for Paolo that brought him to the top last 2012. With his career now secured in the limelight, Paolo is for sure set to rule 2013.

Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. Who would have thought that these two young stars will also rule primetime television for 2012? As they top-bill ‘Princess and I’, the ‘Kathniel’ has skyrocketed and became the most successful team up last year! With an upcoming movie and projects, and with various fan groups dedicated to their love team, there is no stopping Daniel and Kathryn from embarking the grandest ride of their careers!

Julie San Jose and Elmo Magalona. This musically inclined partnership has got even stronger last year. From top billing their first film to starring in various programs in GMA and with their stint in Party Pilipinas, Julie and Elmo is stronger; singing their way to the top, one step at a time.

KZ Tandingan and Myrtle Sarosa. These two young gals, who are products of reality TV shows, “Pinoy Big Brother” and “X Factor” respectively, has prove to us that no matter who you are and no matter where you are, when you dream big, you will achieve big!

Vhin Abrenica and Sophie Albert; Thea Tolentino and Jeric Gonzales. Breaking in the showbusiness industry is for sure tough, but these folks prove to us that with hard work and persistence, your stars will shine through and propel you forward. These four folks are now stars on their own rights as they won ‘Artista Academy’ and ‘Protégé’ respectively.

Jonalyn Viray. Aside from staging her very own solo concert, Jonalyn is also very active as a member of “La Diva”. This super talented has been in and out of the country last year as well, performing in front of the Filipinos around the world.

Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta; Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria. Age doesn’t matter indeed. This unconventional love teams won big last 2012 as their partnerships drew great feedbacks from the Filipino viewers and as their programs have topped the ratings.
