Marian Rivera is all set to start taping her new soap for GMA7 with the title “Carmela,” (working title is “Catarina”) to be written by Suzette Doctolero and helmed by Dominic Zapata, the same team who did the much talked about hit “My Husband’s Lover.”
It looks like GMA Network is kinda doubtful with “Catarina” (see: Marian Rivera in her most sensual role on TV) that’s why they changed it to “Carmela.” (see: Marian Rivera’s New Teleserye Title Is…..CARMELA). Compared to “Catarina” which is a very rare name and kinda mysterious, “Carmela” sounds soft and sweet.
Based on the meaning from Ask.com, the name “Carmela” means ‘Garden’ or ‘Orchard’ and its origin is from Hebrew. The name Carmella is a popular female name used in United States and it is derived from the name Carmel.
Alden Richards will be her leading man and he’s also very excited about it. This will be his next challenging role after “Mundo Mo’y Akin” with Louise de los Reyes. Director Dominic Zapata will helm this project with other confirmed cast like Agot Isidro, Max Collins, Roi Vinzon, Jennica Garcia, Rochelle Pangilinan and a lot more.
