It’s not Kim Chiu, nor Jessy Mendiola, nor Kristine Hermosa, nor Julia Montes! Anne Curtis is really lucky enough to make a splash in 2014!
After the Kapamilya network released a teaser of their “Dyesebel” version in a TV series a month ago, different names came out on whom to play one of the most coveted characters of Mars Ravelo. Some of the names include julia Montes, Erich Gonzales, Kristine Hermosa, KC Concepcion, Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis, and Jessy Mendiola. Each of their fans became excited for their names was shortlisted to play “Dyesebel.”
Last week, Kim Chiu became the loudest when rumors saying that the new “Dyesebel” has an initial of KC spread, then came Julia Montes. But today, ABS-CBN management made the decision on who will play the famous character of the Philippines’ well-loved mermaid and she is no other than Anne Curtis! Anne will be joined by Gerald Anderson and ex-boyfriend Sam Milby as her leading men.
With this announcement, Anne is expected to receive a lot of positive and more negative reactions on social media regarding her rumored potrayal of iconic character. We have seen her playing a mermaid goddess in “Dyosa” but it’s just for a very short time. Anne’s last Primetime TV series in her home network was the drama series “Kailangan Ko’y Ikaw” with Robin Padilla and Kris Aquino. The actresses who already portrayed the character of “Dyesebel” in the movie were Vilma Santos, Alice Dixson, and Charlene Gonzales. In its first TV series version last 2008 in GMA Network, it was Marian Rivera who played the character putting her in great stardom.
