The stunning lady who hails from North Cotabato Mary Jean Lastimosa bested 39 other contestants during the coronation night held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night, March 20. The 26-year-old winner was considered as heavy favorite during the 2012 edition of the Bb. Pilipinas 2012 but unfortunately she failed to make it to the Top 5 of the competition. Lastimosa will be our country’s representative to this year’s Miss Universe pageant.
Lastimosa impressed judges during the Q & A portion with her answer on what’s the advantage of being a woman.
“The advantage of a woman is being able to compose ourselves, just like here. We’re standing in front of thousands of people… but we try to compose ourselves… tonight, thousands of people are standing here, celebrating the beauty of a woman – and that is the advantage of being a woman,” she said.
Others crowned tonight are Binibining Pilipinas International 2014 – Mary Anne Bianca Guidotti, Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2014 – Yvethe Marie Santiago, Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2014 – Parul Shah, and Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2014 – Kris Tiffany Janson. Landing the first runner-up spot is Laura Lehman, while the second runner-up is Hannah Ruth Sison.
Binibining Pilipinas 2014 Grand Coronation Night, aired on ABS-CBN, was hosted by Xian Lim and Anne Curtis and beauty queens Shamcey Supsup, Janine Tugonon and Venus Raj.
