Without a doubt, Jodi Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban are considered ABS-CBN’s prized talents not just because of some kind of awards, they’re darlings of the critical establishment (the reputable ones, at least) among those mainstream actresses we know.
Amor’s and Claudia’s roles are basically character roles. Jodi Sta. Maria as Amor de Jesus-Powers (later Buenavista) will play as the lowly maid of the Buenavista clan whose love for Eduardo transcends the boundaries of their stations in life. Keeping their relationship a secret is as hard as having to please Doña Benita who treats her with cruelty. Her love for Eduardo will be crushed by greed, forcing her to live a life of misery and an endless search for revenge.
Meanwhile, Angelica Panganiban as Claudia Zalameda-Buenavista (later Barcial) will play as the daughter of a political family whose wealth has the ability to save the falling empire of the Buenavistas. Arranged to be married to Eduardo and to his family, Dona Benita will soon taste the wrath of a bitter Claudia.
