It runs in the blood
Music has always been a part of the 21 year old who used to juggle performing, songwriting and studying Music Business Management studies. Her biggest influence must be her musician dad Joey Benin, former base player of the highly popular group of the 90’s Side A Band. The latter admitted not too open with the idea that she’ll follow his footstep. But in the turn of events soon became the no. 1 fan of her gigs, avid supporter of her calling. As a trivia, one the band’s noted hits “Clara’s Eyes” were inspired by her name and out of it comes her own acoustic album titled, the independently- produced “Human Eyes”. “What’s with the name”? I wonder.
“This is the way I perceive people, and how others perceive others” she explained.

The face behind the voice
During her coffee bean and tea leaf outlet tours, yours truly had the wonderful chance to chit-chat in quick over the brands signature beverage. I found out she’s the enchanting voice behind McDonald’s commercial jingles which I always feel good listening to, the latest being “Hooray for Today” breakfast treat promo. She sounded genuinely sweet in the airwaves as she is in person, a countenance that’s quite welcoming. The once-shy highschool girl has stepped out of her comfort zone, well-geared to mingle, and imbibed an attitude to showcase her best and get her own name and music somewhere.
Follow her bliss
In 2013, Clara was selected to participate the annual Elements Music Camp held in Dumaguete City. The same paved a way for her to collaborate with then Orange and Lemon lead vocalist McCoy Fundales to interpret “Kung Akin ang Langit,” entry which she co-wrote for the 2014 Philippine Popular Music Festival. Having used to indie, the project in the limelight was “my first taste of showbiz”, the girl with an ethereal vocal recalled in candid.
