R&B singer Kyla expressed her excitement after her classic song ‘Hanggang Ngayon’ experienced a massive resurgence online, reaching audiences across different parts of the world.

During the interview, Kyla revealed that the song has gained traction in multiple countries.
“Kasi umabot na siya ng Portugal, tapos pati China… sa Brazil sobrang patok na patok siya as in, finallow na rin nila ako,” she said.
She added: “Nakakakilig na after 26 years, parang nabuhay ulit ‘yung song ko.”
The renewed popularity of ‘Hanggang Ngayon’ was largely driven by content creator Johnmark Gon, who frequently used the track in his reels, giving it a new life among younger audiences.
Kyla admitted she had mixed feelings about the song’s transformation into viral content.
“Hindi ko lang alam kung ikakatuwa ko ba na naging parody siya. Kasi malungkot siya eh… pero ‘di ba, at least nakaka-good vibes siya,” she said.
“Hindi na siya malungkot na song ngayon. Pang-transformation na!”
According to the singer, the song’s reach has extended even further, gaining popularity in Spain, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Taiwan.
She shared that she sometimes has to translate posts just to understand messages from international fans tagging her online.
Amid the renewed attention, Kyla is set to hold a concert titled ‘Hanggang Ngayon: The Timeless Music of Kyla’ on July 3, where fans are hoping to see a special appearance from Johnmark Gon.

The singer is also gearing up for the release of a deluxe edition of her comeback album Next Episode, marking a stronger return to the music scene.
“It’s been 7 years since I last released an album. So last year, we released an album called ‘Next Episode’ and I missed singing for everyone na ganito ka-intimate yung setting and especially singing my own songs from my album,” she said.
She also hinted at new material and collaborations in the upcoming release.
“Aside from including Tulad ng Dati, we’re also including more songs for this album na hinahanap ko pa… and may collaboration rin with some artists na I feel that you’ll find exciting, kasi ako nae-excite na.”
