The second quarter performance briefing was held at GMA Network Center last Thursday dated August 6, 2015. During the performance briefing, the network’s top management revealed that GMA 7 has garnered 1.099 Billion for the past 6 months of the year, with a total of 89% which is higher than the network’s last year revenue.
The Kapamilya Network has accumulated 15% increased which is P6.653 Billion, considered as “record-breaking performance” for GMA.
GMA 7’s second quarter net income was briefly explained by Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon with a statement “In the first semester alone, we have not only breached the one billion-peso mark in terms of net income but have also exceeded last year’s full year bottom-line performance by at least P89 million. We are optimistic that the rest of 2015 will also bring positive results for our company”.
From January to June this year, the Operating expenses of the network had only increased to 3% including the total production cost, general and administrative expenses.
Despite of the crucial TV rankings that have been happening between GMA, ABS-CBN and TV5, Kapamilya Network has truly professed to be on top of TV Rankings with the following improvement and sales increase:
- GMA News TV- it has 26% sales revenue improvement.
- Radio Business- it boasts of 21% sales increase.
- GMA International and News continues to be popular including the foreign audiences.
- GMA Worldwide had sold over 2,366 program hours in foreign countries such as: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Hawaii, Myanmar and Nigeria.
Among the significant programs of GMA Network, GMA News Online and GMA’s Official Entertainment Website have played big role for the network’s 6-month revenue compared to last year, showcasing the network’s readiness and responsiveness to daily online media consumption.
In terms of TV Ranking, GMA holds the 39.3% in Manila, ABS-CBN with 27.8% and for TV5 that only has 8.5%.
During the last SONA of President Aquino III last July 27, 2015 more viewers preferred to tune in GMA 7 instead to ABS-CBN and TV5.
In accordance to the GMA Network net income for six months, Kapamilya Network had won several awards at 2015 New York Festival with 4 World Medals and 4 Finalist Certificates for the News and Public Affairs Program.
