Once again the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board or MTRCB has formally called the attention of ABS-CBN executives for its afternoon daily show “It’s Showtime.” The said summon is specifically for the most popular segment of It’s Showtime the “Pastillas Girl”.
The memo was posted on Twitter last October 1 wherein MTRCB summons “It’s Showtime” calling the attention of director Norbert Vidanes and ABS-CBN Business Head Unit Reily Santiago including the executive producer of the noon time Kapamilya show Mark Rejano.
The ABS-CBN execs are asked to attend a meeting regarding gender sensitivity issues. The said MTRCB summon was decided after MTRCB received numerous complaints from televiewers and from the Gabriela group.
“It’s Showtime” now features “Pastillas girl” Angelica Jane Yap who went viral with her pastillas making video on You Tube. The “Nasaan Ka Mr. Pastillas” portion aims to find the right guy for Ms. Pastillas which eventually sparked negative reactions from some individuals and Gabriela.
This is not the first time that MTRCB called on “It’s Showtime.” Last year in August, the Kapamilya show was also summoned due to Vice Ganda’s frolics at the “Gandang Lalaki” (Good Looking Guys) segment of the noontime TV program.
