The annual cheerdancing competiion of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines normally draws a lot of attention, mainly because of its skilled and colorful participants who come from eight different universities.
However, today’s event proved memorable for a different reason, namely, Sofia Andres’ bad hosting ability that makes bad impression at UAAP. Instead of talking about the sexy and pretty cheerdancers, the crowd focused on Andres. All eyes (or should we say ears?) were glued to Andres whose name trended because of her “unforgettable” performance.
To be fair, some tweets commended the Star Magic beauty, but there were more negative statements about her hosting skills. See the tweets below and you be the judge.
We know Andres is a good actress. She was even tagged as the “Pambansang Third Wheel” when she went between the famous love teams LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil of “Forevermore”) and KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla of “She’s Dating a Gangster”). When not acting, Andres can usually be seen in “ASAP Chillout.”
Unfortunately, acting and hosting are two different things and not everyone can do both well. There’s a big difference in hosting in a studio and a place packed with 20,000 people like the MOA Arena. Some were happy with Andres, but most were not.
Will Andres recover from this bad situation or will she forever be remembered as the worst host of this important event in Philippine sports history? Only time will tell.
