Robin Padilla, one of the most popular actors since the 90s, made headlines when he went to the Firearms and Explosives Office of PNP. He surrendered his four high-powered firearms which consist of the following: Two M16 rifles, an M1 Garand and a 30-caliber machine gun.
He never ceases to amaze people with his discipline and determination. Men salute him for all his efforts to be a good example to his countrymen. From eating healthy, drug-free lifestyle, and now, by following the country’s law to heart. It’s no wonder why people have so much respect for him. Fans call him “idol” for a reason.
During Fidel Ramos’ administration in 1994, Robin Padilla was imprisoned for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition for more than two years. He was convicted to serve as an example of how serious a crime it was during Ramos time. Like a real man, Robin didn’t use his connections as a big celebrity back then, and just accepted his fate. He is known as someone who never complains when he thinks he is in the wrong.
Who would want to go back to the notorious “bilibid” (Prison in Muntinlupa)? Not Robin Padilla. That is why he explained that he wants to set a good example of always licensing the guns you own.
Robin is an avid gun collector. We’re all so sure that it’s hard for him to part ways with his beloved collections, which according to him, were the guns he used for his movies and TV series.
Robin Padilla surrendered his firearms while waiting for Philippine National Police (PNP) to give him licenses to own and carry guns. The licenses for his four firearms will expire on December 2015, but upon the advice of his lawyer, Rudolf Juardo, he temporarily handed his gun collections to the authority to avoid any problematic issues that might occur.
Robin is just playing safe because he never wants to be convicted again. He is now a family man and promises himself that as long as he can, he won’t let himself be back in prison again.
