There have been reports that Angel Locsin will do a “Tivoli” role –Tivoli, that’s ‘baklese’ or gay lingo, which means t-bird or tomboy, other terms used are Tiburcio, Tumbang preso, Tom Babauta or Tivoli ice cream.
The said role was originally offered to Maja Salvador, but due to her very tight and busy schedule she has to decline; the leading man will be Paulo Avelino instead of Dindong Dantes.
The film is to be directed by Direk Ruel Bayani under Viva Films and Star Cinema and shooting will start next week. Bayani is the director behind the adult box office hit films like “No Other Woman,” starring Anne Curtis, Derek Ramsay, and Christine Reyes, and “One More Try,” starring Angel Locsin, Dingdong Dantes, Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo.
Few years back, Angel has been accused of being a “tomboy” but she laughs it-off saying that these are just nasty rumors and a product of imagination of some people who have nothing good to say about her.
The title has not been revealed, but could this be a remake of a very famous blockbuster-film about 3 decades ago, starring two of the country’s legendary actresses. The movie is about a night-club dancer, played by one of the actresses, who was accused of murdering her boyfriend’s girlfriend and she seeks the counsel of a successful lawyer played by the other actress, who later on finds herself sexually attracted to the dancer-client.
The movie did not directly discussed the controversial issue, which is a lesbian relationship, let’s not forget though that the old film was filmed ages ago, and it would be interesting to see how they would tackle the story in a less timid society as we are in now.
