Recently, the cast and production staff of “My Bebe Love” (MBL) held a thanksgiving party for the success of the film at the recently concluded 41st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
The film was expected to break existing box office records but have not released official gross earnings since January 4, when GMA News TV announced a 322 million figure on the 10th day of its showing. Its rival “Beauty and the Bestie” meanwhile has claimed 502 million domestic gross earnings as of January 16.
According to GMA News Online, success for Vic means more than the box-office returns. He was thankful for all the blessings that the film received including 3rd best picture, Gatpuno Antonio Villegas Cultural Award, Best Supporting Actress for Maine Mendoza and the record-breaking 60.4 million gross on its opening day.
For her part, Ai-Ai was thankful even to her bashers on social media. She said God Bless to all of them and said that one will not be bashed if one is not famous. Ai-Ai said that what’s important is that they have made a lot of people happy.
The comedienne got a lot of negative reactions when she said that “My Bebe Love” is number one in a press conference for the screening of the film in California and Texas. She added that they never cheated in all that they did. Her Instagram posts also suggested that she knows a lot about what’s really happening.
Everyone knows that Ai-Ai used to be an ABS-CBN star, prompting a lot of commenters to say that she is ungrateful to her previous network for making such statements.
