GMA Network. one of the major television networks in the Philippines have already established itself as one of the more credible sources of information and news.
It can be said that the news and public affairs programming division of GMA Network Inc. is one of its biggest assent and at its foundation are its key media personnel.

Besides the Kapuso networks major broadcasters like Mike Enriquez, Mel Chiangco, Jessica Soho, Arnold Clavio, and Vicky Morales; there are also other reporters that most of us have grown familiar with and accustomed to. One cannot disregard the contribution of GMA Network’s ‘lesser known’ journalists (in comparison to the major key players previously mentioned) as they are similarly competent, responsible, and probably possessed a lot of potential for greatness when given the opportunity to showcased it.
Two veteran GMA Network journalists have graciously left the network for unspecified and vague reasons, Julius Anthony Segovia and Sherrie Ann Torres. The story was backed up both journalist’s social media account posts, and two separate articles from Media Newser Philippines dedicated to their contribution to GMA Network and GMA News:
On the February 1, 2016 on Media Newser reported the departure of the two GMA Network veteran reporters in article entitled “Sherrie Ann Torres Leaves GMA-7”; and “Another Kapuso Departure: Julius Segovia Exits GMA News”.

Journalists may very well be considered celebrities in their own right. For those of us who watched news on a daily basis, their names and voices have seemingly become a staple when it comes to news reporting and they will be missed on their regular spots. It is a simple reality that people come and go.
The two have not shared the specifics as to why they have left a seemingly stable career as journalists in one of the country’s major television networks and a leading one in the field of news and public affairs. Seeing how they are warmly received by people who they have influenced in their last few social network posts, it seems that they are good (if not, great) employees; one can even say grounded, responsible, and dedicated journalists.
However, Julius Segovia was involved in a recent controversy on which he was allegedly been involved. Did this reason is enough for leaving or the network letting him go easily?
If you are already a professional and been in this world long enough, you probably have a good idea why people leave; not to mention, a quick online search on “why good employees leave” can also do give it off. The two seems to indicate that they are not moving to a rival network which is good as for them to not be in the crossfire of the secret cold network wars waged by each of the network’s dedicated followers.
They hinted that they are seemingly pushing a career outside of journalism or at least the television news and public affairs industry. Who knows, maybe a greener pasture perhaps on top of some of the reasons one can research?

.To whatever reason Sherrie Ann Torres and Julius Segovia might have for leaving their career in journalism on GMA Network, we all wish them luck in whatever they might pursue in the future.
With credible names they made for themselves and a good following they have successfully established; they can very always return to a career in broadcast journalism if they will it; a new home that would know their hearts desire.
