ABS-CBN is slowly beating GMA Network in the weekend ratings war.
Based on the AGB Nielsen Mega Manila household survey for the weekend of April 16-17, 2016, Kapamilya shows outnumber GMA Network in the Saturday daytime top 10. While “Eat Bulaga!” still held the top spot, ABS-CBN show “Kapamilya Blockbusters” featuring “Kung Fu Cult Master ” registered at number 3 beating Kapuso’s “Sarap Diva”. Other ABS-CBN shows which filled in 6 of the top 10 shows on Saturday daytime were “It’s Showtime”, “SOCO”, “Family Feud”, “Mga Kwento Ni Marc Logan” and “Ipaglaban Mo”.
For Saturday primetime, it’s 5-5 for both Kapuso and Kapamilya shows. “Pilipinas Got Talent” bannered Kapamilya shows at top 4 with “MMK Ang Tahanan”, “TV Patrol Weekend”, “Home Sweetie Home” and “I Love OPM” completing the other slots in the top 10.
Sunday is no different story, daytime and primetime top is equally divided between Kapuso and Kapamilya shows. “Sunday Pinasaya” continuous to lead daytime programming while “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” reigns primetime. “Sunday’s Best” which usually succumb to GMA Network’s SNBO has gained ground with “Bb. Pilipinas 2016” tying “SNBO: Fight For Love” in the 9th spot.
