Mega Manila households preferred GMA Network programming during the Holy Week break.
From Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, GMA Network shows registered strong ratings number according to AGB Nielsen survey. GMA Network’s line-up of shows almost sweeps the Top 10 programs during the Holy Week with ABS-CBN only managed to put one show in the Top 10 from Thursday March 24 to Saturday March 26.
The film about Jesus Christ’s story “Son of God” was the most watch program on Maundy Thursday getting a rating of 29.4% and is followed by Mulawin the Movie and the Korean family drama film Miracle in Cell No.7 in 2nd and 3rd spot. We Will Survive Marathon was the lone Kapamilya program in the Top 10.
For Good Friday, the classic “Ten Commandments” led Friday programs with a whooping 37.1% ratings. Cinemalaya’s “Sta. Nina” was the sole entry of ABS-CBN in the Top 10 on that day with 12.8% at number 5.
Black Saturday was no different as Kapuso programs get 9 of the Top 10 programs led by “Fantastic Four”. ABS-CBN’s “Wansapantaym” although the only Kapamilya program registered strong at number 2 spot with 21.4%.
Meanwhile, Easter Sunday was also dominated by GMA Network shows with Sunday Pinasaya leading the Daytime programs and Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho headlining primetime.
