During the launch of his newest show on cable channel Kix titled “The Ultimate Brocation,” members of the media have asked Billy Crawford the issue reported last week that he was arrested in Hong Kong during a Halloween party held at a bar in Hong Kong’s Harbour City last October 31.
Crawford clarified that he only cooperated with local authorities who brought him in for questioning. “It was taken out of context, hindi po ako nakulong.”
“Kung nakulong ako, hindi ako makakabalik sa Pilipinas, to be honest with you. In all cases, I’d be deported to the United States.”
He also maintained that he did not punch anyone. “May nangyari, may kaguluhan na nangyari dahil nabastos si Coleen. It was a verbal altercation between someone there and me. Good thing, yung medyo shunga na nambastos kay Coleen ay ginawa niya sa harapan ng pulis, so nakita ng mga pulis.”
He added, “The thing about Hong Kong police, they’re very, very strict. Kahit yung pinakamaliit, magsigawan kayo sa street, puwede kang makuwestiyon, at puwede kang i-hold for a statement. Dun lumaki talaga ang respeto ko sa authority ng Hong Kong. Kasi, they had to hold us — ako, si Coleen, si Renz na kasama ko — and the other party, they had to hold them, too, para malaman nila kung ano yung kaso, ano yung mangyayari. So, I had to explain to them, Coleen had to explain to them.”
“So, na-detain kami nang kaunti, pero hindi kami nakulong.”
According to a report by Pilipino Star Ngayon tabloid published on November 7, Crawford had to spend a night detained at a police station with actress Coleen Garcia after punching a man who groped his girlfriend.
