Eva Castillo is back in the limelight.
Just yesterday, Eva competed and won in “It’s Showtime’s” hit segment ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan.’ She was hailed as the new defending champion.
Eva, who impressed the audience and judges with his rendition of Shirley Bassey’s ‘The Greatest Performance Of My Life’ next to the latest semi-finalist Julia Faith Julio who decided to take a rest to give chance to other contenders.
Ogie Alcasid, one of the hurados of the segment recognized her and gave her good feedback on her performance.
Eva Castillo is one of the Asia’s Songbird rival in different amateur singing contests. She became a singer in different clubs and hotel, until she had her family and gave up her career. Eva resurfaced in the singing industry after joining Regine’s birthday special in 2009, “Regine: Roots to Riches”.
In 2014, Eva was diagnosed with tumor and needed help. In an interview, director Louie Ignacio revealed that the Asia’s Songbird helped Eva in some of her finances in the hospital.
