At his contract signing event on March 17 that was held at PBA Café, Papa Jack, formerly Papa J (John Gemperle in real life), revealed the reason why he left Love Radio.
The prominent DJ said his former radio station planned to move his program to a different time slot.
“The management was supposed to move me to different time slot, which in my heart, I cannot deliver in full potential,”Papa J revealed.
He also explained, “So I asked the management, ‘Sir, final na po ba? Final na? Well if it’s final, I will (be) tendering my resignation.”
The 34-year-old also admitted that he was waiting for the management of Love Radio to stop him from resignation since he was with the radio station for 12 years. However, no one stopped him from leaving the company.
“Actually, naghihintay ako na pigilan nila ako “Walang pumigil sa’kin. So, inabot ko po ‘yung resignation ko.
He then confessed, “Looking back nu’ng mga araw na ‘yon, I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to go. ‘Tagal ‘ko du’n eh. Labing-dalawang taon. Lahat ng kaibigan mo nandu’n. Lahat. I stayed longer hours in the office than in my own house. ‘Yung aso ko nga, minsan hindi na ako kilala eh.”
But he was stressed he is now happy to be given another opportunity by Energy FM.
“May mga nalungkot (na DJ), baka may naging masaya. Pero ngayon, sobrang saya ko.”
