There have been talks that “Darna” will be Star Cinema’s official entry for the upcoming 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.
Kathryn Bernado is being considered to replace Angel Locsin as the main lead.
If this were true, KathNiel fans will surely rejoice. And it’s going to be Kathryn’s biggest break to date, if ever it’ll push through. Kathryn has a lot of young supporters and with “Darna” as her solo launching movie, it promises to be a big hit and it will make Kathryn into another bankable star.
Nothing is definite yet as of this time, ABS-CBN hasn’t named who will be playing “Darna” but there have been names that were given who’s being considered for the much-coveted role. Other names who might just be the next “Darna” would be the likes of Nadine Lustre, Jessy Mendiola, Liza Soberano and Sarah Geronimo.
For now, we’ll all just have to wait and see if Kathryn would really be the one who will clinch the said Mars Ravelo all-time favorite character.
