- Teen King Daniel Padilla confessed recently that eons ago, he used to watch Richard Gutierrez on his now defunct fantasy series, Mulawin.
- Richard Gutierrez never thought he’d be working with someone like Daniel, but he was elated with the opportunity to sort of ‘pass on the torch’ to younger generations.
- He looks forward to be working with former love team, Angel Locsin and to other Kapamilya stars as well.
Celebrities themselves can also experience being starstrucked. Take it from Daniel Padilla, who admitted he used to watch Richard Gutierrez in the TV series Mulawin some eons ago. Richard felt happy and flattered that he was able to inspire one of this generation’s biggest actors.
“Maraming salamat kay Daniel. Natutuwa ako na ‘yung mga nagawa ko before na shows napanood niya at kahit papaano na-inspire ko rin siya, so masarap ang pakiramdam na may effect na ganun. And I’m sure si Daniel ngayon yung nasa posisyon ko dati na in the future ganun din ang magiging effect niya sa future stars. Siguro it’s more of just passing on the torch, di ba?,” said Richard.
Who would have thought that several years after, Richard and Daniel will be working together on a project? The two will be seen together in ABS-CBN’s latest teleserye, La Luna Sangre where Richard will be playing the vampire king.
Richard also expressed his gladness about working not only with Daniel but also with Kathryn as well. He was considered as one of the biggest matinee idols of the previous generation.
He sheds an advice for both Kathryn and Daniel: “Siyempre at this point in their lives marami silang ma-meet na tao. Huwag lang nilang kalilimutan yung mga taong nakatulong sa kanila in the past and to just always stay humble and God-fearing.”
Richard considers it a blessing to be back on the grind and to be able to start working again. He’s also equally excited to reunite with former screen partner, Angel Locsin.
‘It’s been a while since I last worked with Angel. I’m glad to be given this opportunity to work with her again. It’s always a joy working with her, just like the old times. It’s truly an answered prayer,” said Richard.
He looks forward on doing projects with other Kapamilya stars but considers himself very lucky to be given the chance to work with the likes of Angel [Locsin], John Lloyd Cruz, KathNiel, and director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
“Sa ngayon, dito muna ang focus ko. But I’m open and willing to work with anyone from the Kapamilya,” he said.
